Casa Carolina is the brainchild of Silvia Filip. Silvia was born in Targu Lapus, Maramures and her love of providing hospitality springs out of her childhood; the people of Maramures are one the most hospitable people you will ever meet.
She studied Economics at the London School of Economics and Birkbeck College and has lived in London for 20 years.
She worked as a medical administrator & business analyst for over 10 years at the Royal College of Physicians of London where she now acts as pension trustee.Silvia loves being a host, organising events and connecting people.
At Casa Carolina we want each guest to deeply connect with nature and discover the simplicity of a way of life that has all but disappeared elsewhere in Europe.
Casa Carolina is also a community enterprise promoting local traditions, handmade crafts and serves local food and the traditional horinca de Maramures. We hope that the food, the music and the colourful handicrafts in Tara Lapusului, will enchant every visitor.
In summer Casa Carolina is the location for painting courses organised by Art Holidays Romania.
